Dutch Outplay Cameroon
In an eventful FIFA – 2010, Group E match between Netherlands and Cameron, Dutch outplayed Cameroon by beating them in a thumping manner. Dutch scored 2 goals in the 36th and 83rd minute of the game. The victory against Cameroon has ensured that a top spot for Netherlands in the group rankings with 3 wins. Van Persie provided the first breakthrough to Netherlands. The Arsenal striker played it in one-two style with Van der Vaart in the box area before firing right footed shot from a tight angle. Samuel Eto’o tied the score for Cameroon in the 65th minute through a penalty. The penalty was conceded by Van der Vaart who tried to knock off Geremi’s free kick attempt and in process it hit his hands. It was spotted by the referee and the penalty was awarded to Cameroon. Van der Vaart was replaced by Dutch star winger Arjen Robben in the 73rd minute. Klass Jan Huntelaar provided the lead to Netherlands in the 83rd minute when the ball came back off the inside of the post after a free hit outside the box.
The Dutch coach Bert van Marwijk quoted, “We played very well in the first half and I felt relaxed at halftime. But situation changed from the beginning of the second half, and then I had to make some changes.” “My players played cautiously to avoid being cautioned,” he added.
The dejected and disappointed, Cameroon’s coach Paul Le Guen hinted that he would no longer continue to provide directions to the team. He also quoted that “We should have got better results from the World Cup and I will take all the responsibility for the elimination.”
Netherlands has shown sheer class and perfect technique in the tournament so far. Before their game with Cameroon, Netherlands beat Denmark 2-0 and edged past Japan 1-0. Contrastingly, Cameroon showed dismal performance throughout Fifa World Cup 2010. They lost to Japan 1-0 and to Denmark 2-1 before losing to Netherlands in their final league match.
The Netherlands will take on Slovakia in the Round of 16 while Japan will face Paraguay.

World Cup News : Japan overpowers Denmark to cruise into last 16
A pair of fabulous first-half free kicks from Keisuke Honda and Yasuhito Endo and a late strike from substitute Shinji Okazaki powered Japan to a 3-1 win over Denmark on Thursday and into the second round of the World Cup finals.
The Japanese needed only a point to secure their passage into the last 16 but an ultimately comfortable victory in their final Group E game means they join already qualified Netherlands in the last 16, where they will meet Group F winners Paraguay in Pretoria on June 29.
Takeshi Okada’s men wrapped up the group phase with six points, three behind the Netherlands, who won 2-1 against Cameroon.
Japan reached the knockout phase for the first time since the 2002 World Cup that the country co-hosted with South Korea.
“This was our first objective (to reach the second round) so I am relieved,” said coach Okada. “The players kept going until the end without losing their focus. I am proud to be with such a great bunch of players.”
Okada kept faith with the side that beat Cameroon 1-0 before losing to the Netherlands by the same scoreline in Durban on Saturday.
The Blue Samurai made a bright start and Daisuke Matsui went close to breaking the deadlock after 13 minutes but the Grenoble midfielder was denied as Denmark goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen blocked his flick after a dangerous ball into the box by Yoshito Okubo. Read more…
