James Toney To Make His Debut in UFC

Whenever someone is in the position like Dana White, there will be many successes and sometimes there will be failures.

If this interview with James Toney is any sign of the future, Toney may prove to be the biggest mistake in the career of the UFC President.

James Toney will make his MMA debut against UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture on August 18 at UFC 118, in Boston.

Most don’t give Toney a chance against Couture, but those that do figure the only way to victory for “Lights Out” is a knock out.

However, the former boxer sees it playing out differently.

Georges St-Pierre and Josh Koscheck title fight to be held in Toronto or Pittsburgh

The season ending title fight will take place between “The Ultimate Fighter 12″ coaches Georges St-Pierre and challenger Josh Koscheck.

This fight will occur in December with UFC President Dana White says he has to potential cities in mind to host the fight.

Koscheck would like to see the fight happen in Pittsburgh and St-Pierre would like to see it in any Canadian city, Toronto being the current front runner.

Koscheck however doesn’t anticipate receiving any favors from White due to what he claims to be a strained relationship.

He does know though that bad blood usually always helps to bring excitement to the season of “TUF” as well as more hype for an already hyped title fight wherever it may end up taking place.

Weight Issue Holding up the Couture-Toney UFC 118 Fight.

What is the hold up with the Couture-Toney UFC 118 fight?

Couture wants it; Toney is on board as is Dana White. So what’s the deal? Seems there is a weight issue.

This fight is expected to be signed as soon as Friday, however they still need to work out what weight the fight will be contested at.

The original plan was for the fight to be a 215 catch weight; however recent conversations between the two sides have revealed that Toney has asked for 220 to be the target weight.

If this ends up being the case, the most likely scenario is that this catch weight will be scrapped entirely and instead, the fight would be promoted as a heavyweight fight.
