Would Five UFC 114 Judges Have Made a Difference?
Fans at Saturday nights UFC 114 event in Vegas booed when Antonio Rogerio Nogueira was awarded the victory with a split decision of two out of three judges making that call.
A new judging system was being tested also this weekend in Amsterdam which might have given Brilz the victory that fans thought he earned.
The system in Amsterdam is simple; it uses five judges instead of three.
Had this been the set up last weekend, perhaps two more judges would have chosen Brilz over Nogueira and the five judge panel would have awarded the split decision victory to him at UFC 114 instead.
